Corpus Christi Carroll (18-10) pulled out a victory in the closing minutes of the District 28-5A fourth-place tie-breaker game against Southwest (10-23) Friday at Victoria East. The Tigers won 82-76.
Both teams finished the 28-5A season with 4-6 records. In fact, each lost its last district game. They split two head-to-head games, necessitating the additional, neutral-site game.
Southwest led 45-41 at halftime and 64-61 after three quarters.
No individual statistics are currently available for the Dragons. The loss ended their season.
