Brackenridge (13-8, 9-2) bounced back from a sub-par offensive showing Tuesday against Jefferson to defeat Lanier (7-14, 4-7) 12-0 Thursday at SAISD Field No. 1. The Eagles finished with 11 hits.

The second-place Eagles took the lead with two runs in the first inning. They also scored twice in the third, before breaking out with eight runs over the next two innings to put the 10-run rule into effect.

Brackenridge senior Robert Rangel limited the Voks to four hits while striking out seven.

Senior Tristen Cortinas went 2-for-2 with three RBIs. Mario Roldan led the Eagles with three hits. Matt de los Santos was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Alex Hammerli drove in two runs. Austin Lozano collected an RBI. Freshman Johnathon Lucas scored four runs.

Brackenridge, which is assured of finishing in second, will complete its district season with a 7 p.m. game against Highlands (10-12, 5-6) Thursday at SAISD Field No. 1.

Lanier is tied with Burbank (7-16-1, 4-7) for fourth place. The teams will square off Thursday at SAISD Field No. 2 to determine the district’s final playoff qualifier.
