Brennan 62, Brackenridge 6
It was billed as the battle for the District 28-4A championship, but Brennan (6-0, 2-0) left no doubt that the race was its to lose Saturday night at Farris Stadium. The Eagles (3-3, 1-1) fell behind 13-0 at the end of the first quarter, as Key (301 yards, 18 carries) ran for 58- and 41-yard touchdowns in the last 3:30. The senior ran for four touchdowns and passed for another, while throwing just four times for 36 yards.
Brennan put the game out of reach with 36 points in the second quarter. In contrast to the Bears’ 423-yard offensive output, Brack’s high-powered offense was limited to 163 yards. The Eagles committed five turnovers.
